OVERVIEW: The AS-12 KEGLER (Kh-25PS) is a supersonic, short-to-medium range, air-launched, solid-fuel, anti-radar (ARM) missile. It has a 90.6 kg HE warhead with an impact fuze.
DETAILS: The AS-12 is intended primarily as reactive defensive weapons for suppression of terminal and battlefield air defences. It has the ability to attack radars that have shut down, or to switch to a emitting target if it lost its original target. The missile is programmed to climb along a logarithmic trajectory until the seeker depression angle to the target emitter is 27, at which point the missile pitches down and dives into the target.
NOTES: The AS-12 became operational in the early 1980's.
