OVERVIEW: The AGM-142E Raptor HAVE NAP, is a solid fuel short-to-medium range, IIR guided, air-to-ground missile designed for precision attack against large, high-value targets from stand-off ranges.

DETAILS: The AGM-142E Raptor uses a GPS-aided inertial guidance system that pilots the missile towards the target, switching to a imaging infrared (IIR) seeker, enabling either the launching platform or another platform to designate the target in the terminal phase. The AGM-142B can attack its target using either a low level "pop up" or a steep dive from high altitude. The modular warhead section can be fitted with either a HE blast/fragmentation warhead or a high-penetration warhead.

NOTES: The AGM-142E is also known as the "Popeye." Initially developed for the Israel, the AGM-142E entered Australian service in 2006. Variants are also used by Irael, the United States, Turkey, South Korea, and India. The seeker head is modular, and can be fitted with either an TV (AGM-142A) or an imaging infrared (IIR) seeker (AGM-142B).
