OVERVIEW: The GBU-15(V)31/B CWW (Cruciform Wing Weapon) is a unpowered glide bomb intended for precision bombing against hardened targets.


DETAILS: The basic GBU-15 configuration consists of a bolt-on guidance/fin section and a cruciform wing group and data link attached to a BLU-109/B bomb. The GBU-15(V)31/B guidance section uses a electro-optical sensor for guidance. The weapon can be launched at low altitude. The BLU-109/B is capable of penetrating 4-6 feet of reinforced concrete.


NOTES: IOC with U.S. in 1986. The GBU-15(V)31/B is capable of attacking targets only in daylight.
