OVERVIEW: The AN/FPS-117 SEEK IGLOO is a low power, long range, phased array, 3-D air search radar that operates in the "D" Band.
DETAILS: The AN/FPS-117 is designed to provide long-range detection and coverage for drug interdiction support and tactical command and control. The System includes a redundant architecture with computer software remote controlled and monitored operations to minimize manning requirements. It can select between 18 randomly selected channels within its frequency band to counter jamming.
