OVERVIEW: The AN/TPS-73 is Medium-Range Air Search Surveilance Radar.

DETAILS: The AN/TPS-73 is mainly used as airport surveillance radar. It's part of the Marine Air Traffic Control Automatic Landing System (MATCALS). AN/TPS-73 can be deployed quickly to airports or helicopter bases.

NOTES: The system is air-transportable and can be carried by a single C-130.
