OVERVIEW: The AN/TPS-77 is mobile, 3-D long range, phased array radar tactical mobile radar operating in the "D" Band.
DETAILS: The function of TPS-77 is "tactical control and/or surveillance of air operations from any location". The TPS-70 tactical radar provides reliability, sensitivity, and accuracy, even in the face of jamming and high-clutter conditions. It uses an Active Electronic Elevation Scanning Array and is capable of detecting ballistic missile targets.
