OVERVIEW: The JY-8A WALL RUST is a mobile, short range 3-D air mobile tactical radar operating in the G/H-band.
DETAILS: A modified version of the JY-8, the JY-8A is intended to provide precise 3-D information on targets for fire control. It has an increased capability of detecting low-altitude targets, but at the cost of a reduced detection range, and lower height accuracy. It is physically identical to the JY-8. ECCM features include frequency agility, Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR), low sidelobes and blanking of jammed beams. It is capable of tracking up to 24 targets.
Specifications:
Frequency: 4-8 GHz (G/H Band (NATO), C Band (IEEE))
Power output: 40 kW(average); 800 kW (peak)
PRF: 300 pps
Range Accuracy: 500 m (range), 0.3 degrees azimuth
On/Off time: unknown
Deploy/Stow Time 120 minutes/ 120 minutes
Detection Range
tgt alt. 100m: unknown km
tgt alt. 18000m: unknown km
